The scientific name of sumac is Rhus coriaria, which was also pronounced "sumak" in ancient times. The sumac plant is like a mountain shrub with cluster fruits that is usually between 3 and 5 meters high. This plant has many branches with many branches and whitish color.

The color of the fruit of the sumac tree is red and brown, which has a sour taste and becomes sour after ripening. After pounding, sumac fruit is used as a seasoning with foods such as kebabs.
